Program on Innovation and Financial Sustainability

Leadership and Governance

The Program on Innovation and Financial Sustainability is led by Brown’s senior executive leaders, who are considered the "executive sponsors” of this program.

Brown’s executive sponsors meet monthly to review progress, make decisions on the implementation, and share updates with campus stakeholders on the progress of the implementation efforts.

  • Christina H. Paxson, President
  • Richard M. Locke, Provost
  • Sarah Latham, Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration
  • Russell Carey, Executive Vice President for Planning and Policy

A program management team supports the implementation of projects under the program by developing deliverables, coordinating communications and management efforts, and facilitating decision-making.

  • Implementation Lead: James J. Rowan, Chief of Staff to the Provost and Associate Provost of Strategy
  • Communications Lead: To be determined

Periodically, the executive sponsors may convene leaders from across the University who are supporting the program to review progress and announce relevant decisions.

Work Groups

Several small, targeted work groups are charged with rolling out changes in support of the program’s approved recommendations through a series of discrete and time-bound projects. The work groups ensure campus stakeholders are appropriately familiar and bought into the changes. Each work group is led by a chair and supported by its members.
